MARCH 18, 2009 — I’ve spent my professional life devoted to excellence in journalism and film. In the last few years, I’ve taught those skills (and the ethics that go with them) to students now that I’m a college professor and newspaper adviser. I’m disappointed that my students and I have become the target of what, in my opinion, is the worst kind of media manipulation, distributed in print in San Diego and online without regard to facts or ethical behavior.

APRIL 18, 2009 — When I originally planned to post this today, I intended to open the entry a little differently. But after what happened last night (April 17), I have witnessed another strange layer to this whole Zenger’s saga. Aside from that, I was again dismayed by yet more factual inaccuracies and misstatements levied against me and my students in Zenger’s Newsmagazine.
