City Times' first place award for Best Editorial was significant for more than just the fact it won over professional nondaily newspapers. It served as vindication regarding an issue that hurt my students deeply and greatly offended me.

The actors and staffers are set for Team Mercury Cinema's entry in the 48 Hour Film Project. With about twice as many actors this year, the project should be pretty exciting.

City College journalists win again

The San Diego Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists released their winners list for this year's annual regional awards, and student in the City College journalism program are well-represented, as has been tradition the past few years.

Younger people DO read newspapers

I still don't believe naysayers and techno-experts who insist that younger generations absolutely do not read newspapers. My inspiration for posting this right now comes from observing a 20-something guy reading a Union-Tribune here at Old California Coffee House.

When I originally planned to post this today, I intended to open the entry a little differently. But after what happened last night (April 17), I have witnessed another strange layer to this whole Zenger’s saga. Aside from that, I was again dismayed by yet more factual inaccuracies and misstatements levied against me and my students in Zenger’s Newsmagazine.
